Copy-Kids DVD Review and Giveaway (Ends 10/17)

Can I get a raise of hands from every parent out there that has a hard time getting their kids to eat vegetables and sometimes even fruit?  With three little personalities and tastes it is extremely hard to get everyone to eat their vegetables in our house.  If one child decides that the peas are “gross” everyone is spitting them out and telling me that they don’t like them.

I know that leading by example is a great way to influence children and so we try hard to show the kids how adults like to eat their veggies.  We tell them they taste good and they make us healthy and strong, but let’s face it, even as young children my kid have figured out that they want to follow their peers sometimes more than their parents.  Sad but true.
I was excited for the opportunity to review Copy-Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables to see if it would help with the struggle to convince my kids that vegetables are not evil, and I am happy to say that it is starting to work.
The first time we watched the DVD I was worried that my kids would get bored because there was no big action or cartoon characters, but when it started and they saw other kids like them on the screen they were happy to sit and watch.  Not only did they watch it, they really liked it.  After one segment was finished they would pick out the next based on the fruit or vegetable the kids were eating.  Then they started asking me for some of the foods they saw on the screen.
I had prepared and made sure to have a few things the DVD covered on hand so when they requested a cucumber I had it ready.  I prepared it a couple of different ways to see what would happen.  As you can tell in the pictures they tasted and ate the cucumber, even the whole one.  I was especially surprised because my baby refuses to eat them, but as she watched the DVD she was enjoying the cucumber along withe the kids on the screen.
I decided that I wanted to try an experiment and have Copy-Kids playing during dinner to see if it would help the kids eat their veggies.  I have to say that there is a huge difference in the amount of vegetables eaten at our house.  I am not saying every vegetable is my kids’ favorite now, but at least they will give everything a try.  The change has carried over into other foods that before my kids would have pushed away.  Now they are giving new foods a taste to see if they like them and many times they find the new food is pretty good.
I am giving Copy-Kids two thumbs up for creating a great DVD to help me teach healthy eating to my children.  Check out a few clips from the DVD below.
