Juil Review and Giveaway (Ends 8/1)

You can find me wearing sandals almost any day year round! I love sandals but the lack of support in most flip-flops has been really affecting my feet, legs and back recently. I was looking for quality sandals that are supportive and I came across . They are in a league of their own! Juil offers beautiful, quality leather sandals for women and men. Juil shoes are designed to be as comfortable as going barefoot but they didn’t stop there. The shoe was created to enhance wellbeing with the idea of connection and grounding in mind. You might be asking yourself: What is grounding? I know I did! I had heard about it but never fully understood the concept. In a nutshell, it is the idea that maintaining a direct connection between our bodies and the Earth’s surface offers health benefits. Stress and toxins build up as free radicals in our bodies attacking healthy cells and causing inflammation. The idea behind grounding is that the Earth’s magnetism can be harnessed and basically create a circuit that allows electrons to be absorbed and therefore neutralize and release the harmful free radicals from our bodies.

Personally, I find this to be a very interesting concept. There is a copper disk under each toe and under the heel that goes all the way through the sole of the shoe to the ground. Whether you are familiar with or put weight in the idea of grounding or not, you will be impressed with these shoes from day one!

On their website they have a wide variety of sandals for women. They also feature some styles for men as well. Beyond offering a great selection of styles I love that each style is available in many different colors! After spending quite a bit of time deciding which style would be best for me I selected the Hera sandals in Pewter and sat patiently waiting for them to arrive. Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait long at all!

When I received my shoes I was unexpectedly impressed with the box. It is so sturdy and the box actually pulls out with fabric tabs. I instantly decided I had to repurpose it! It is currently home to my son’s blocks and I love it! Along with the sandals and the wonderful box there was also a gorgeous over the shoulder bag for a yoga mat.

As with all quality leather shoes, my Hera sandals required a little breaking in. For the first week I wore them for 30 minutes a day. Since then, I have barely taken them off! These stylish and comfortable sandals are quickly becoming my new go-to shoe. I really appreciate the fact that they can be dressed up or down and obviously I love how insanely comfortable they have become so quickly. Beyond being comfortable for my feet I have really noticed a difference in my body. I often have back, knee and hip pain after long days and that has greatly decreased since starting to wear my Juil sandals. I am in no way trying to suggest that these sandals are some magical cure for all aches and pains but I do fully acknowledge that quality shoes really do make a difference.

People definitely are curious about the copper disks and I love telling everyone about them. The one precaution that I will give is that you need to be careful about leaving them in direct sunlight at extreme temperatures. Here in Vegas it has been well into the triple digits recently. I was at the pool with my new favorite sandals and left them out in the sun. After an hour I put them on and my toes and heel got very hot where they touched the copper disks. Since that day I have laid my towel on the shoes and haven’t had the same experience.

If I were to sum up Juil in one word it would be quality. These sandals really are amazing and I am so excited to be doing this giveaway!

Smile Brilliant LED Teeth Whitening Review & Giveaway

Laura Says:  Many people say that the first physical feature they notice about someone is their smile. Who doesn’t want a whiter and brighter smile? I know I do! Over the years I have tried several different teeth whitening strips, trays, molds and even more things I am sure my dentist wouldn’t be happy hearing about in my attempts to have a bright and beautiful smile. The strips would slip, the gel tubes would leak and I would get frustrated. Two things that every method I have tried had in common were that they were messy and expensive! With my best friends wedding quickly approaching I was looking for a way to successfully whiten my teeth without making a mess or spending too much money.

I am very happy to tell you that I found the perfect solution and that solution is . I have heard a lot of hype about LED teeth whitening so I had high expectations and Smile Brilliant absolutely exceeded them! In their you will receive a high intensity Ultra-Blue LED activating light, protective top & bottom trays, 4ml professional whitening gel pen and an extra little brush just in case you need to even out the gel. They recommend treatments daily for as little as 20 minutes. It really is as easy as 1,2,3,4..

  1. Brush your teeth. You want to have everything cleaned off so that the gel can get directly in contact with your teeth. It also helps the whitening be more even over the entire surface of the tooth.
  2.  Brush the gel on your teeth. This is one of my favorite parts. You just need to twist the end of the whitening pen until the gel comes out and onto the brush. Don’t get upset if it takes a few twists especially the first time the gel is very thick which keeps it on your teeth. I absolutely love that this is mess free! My hands don’t get the gel on them like they have with some others I have tried.
  3. Put on the mouth guard. The gel has a hydrogen peroxide base so you want to use the trays to keep it from contacting and irritating the other surfaces in your mouth.
  4. Put the LED light into your mouth and turn it on. This is as easy as it sounds. You simply put it in your mouth against your teeth and wrap your lips around it to keep it in place. If you use the light they recommend 20-45 minutes. If you decide not to use the light you will still have the same level of whiteness, it will just take a longer session. They recommend 30-2 hours without the light. I have to say, I loved the light! It made such a difference and really did accelerate the process.

The first time I used it I was shocked that I actually forgot the light was in my mouth; it is so lightweight. I actually noticed a difference after the first whitening, which has never happened to me before. With all the other products that I have used I’ve experienced major tooth sensitivity. That was my biggest concern with Smile Brilliant. I purposefully have skipped every other day to proactively avoid sensitivity and haven’t had any issues. I’m 3 weeks in now (a week and a half if I had used it daily) and I am beyond impressed with the results! I am excited to continue for the full treatment and see my teeth continue to lighten and brighten. Honestly I am shocked and embarrassed at my before compared to my after but I had to share so that you can see the results are real!

These trays worked every bit as well as the custom trays I had made at my dentists office a few years ago and Smile Brilliant prides itself on using the same professional grade products as they do in the dentist’s office but at less than ¼ the cost and with a lot less mess. I cannot say enough about Smile Brilliant!

Modest Pop Review and Giveaway (Ends 7/15)

“Modest” and “Fashionable”.. Those are the two words that I care about most when I am picking out an outfit. They are also two words that do not often go together; especially in the summertime.

Modesty is very important to me and my attempts to be modest and stylish can be extremely frustrating. Inevitably I end up wearing at least 3 layers which is a nightmare living in Las Vegas; especially in the summer. I’ve always wanted to find beautiful and modest tops and dresses that don’t need any layering.

A few weeks ago I was beyond annoyed with the lack of options in my closet as the temperatures here were already over 100 degrees I started searching the Internet for options when I came across online.  As I read about , the founder of ModestPop.com, and her frustration in wanting to find modest, fashionable clothing that didn’t require layering I could instantly relate. The fact that a part of the mission for her company is to find and sell modest, stylish clothing at affordable prices is something that I really appreciated.

I had a hard time picking out an item to review but I decided on the . It is priced at $35, which is a total steal! I’ve had the hardest time finding Maxi Dresses with sleeves and was very excited about this one. It is perfect for a date night or even running errands. I love how easily it can be dressed up or down with accessories and that fact that it doesn’t need any extra layers to be modest. The empire waist is a great cut on any body type and I just can’t get over how breezy and effortless this dress is!

It has been a long time since I could wear a top or dress without extra layers and I was so glad that this dress exceeded my expectations. Initially I wasn’t sure how I felt about the ruched sleeves but I ended up loving them! The fabric, like many summery dresses is a thin material which is great for summer. It wasn’t sheer and would be great for packing but it can show lines of any extra layers. I am 5 ft 9 and many maxi dresses aren’t long enough for me; this one was a great length. It was so comfortable! I ended up wearing it all day. I’m so glad I found this dress on Modest Pop!
