I must point out that this book of verses, like any other, is not a typical story that continues from one page to the next. I appreciate this style of writing as much as a storybook because I feel it helps to introduce children to poetry and verse on their level and expands their horizons. Each page is a little story of its own with a lesson or principal taught using the flowers. Some of the values taught with the short verses are those of love, family, friendship, and kindness.

I have always loved children’s literature and picture books. Reading time was one of the many things that I cherished about teaching kindergarten and pre-school. I especially loved to find books with fabulous art in them, and guess what…I have another great find I want to share with you all!
I was lucky enough to receive a copy of book Blooming Buddies in the Garden, A Blooming Book of Verse to review as well as some charming stickers and art prints. I was very impressed with the book’s artist, , and her lovely artwork with vibrant bold colors. Blooming Buddies leads readers through a wondrous garden filled with colorful flower friends.
My kids have loved reading Blooming Buddies each night before bed for the past week and they look forward to talking about the pictures and pointing out new discoveries. This book has been added to our library on the “most read” shelf, and I am sure it will stay there for a long time.
