School started this week and I knew I wanted to do something special for my kids to celebrate a new school year and ease the transition back—maybe more so for mom than the kids—LOL! It is always bittersweet when the summer ends and my kids are back in school full time. I was inspired by to make a fun back to school sandwich art for my kids snack as a healthy fun way to celebrate school starting. In years past I have taken the kids for donuts or ice cream after school, but we have been trying to eat better and incorporate more whole grains and real food into our diets lately. I knew this snack would be a great way to let my kiddos know how much I missed them and give them some healthy food to fuel their growing bodies.
I knew that eating more whole grain was an important factor in the bread I buy, but I didn’t realize that more than half of other moms out there felt the same way! I am glad to share with you that when you buy Nature’s Harvest you can count on these things:
o At least 8 grams of whole grains in every serving.
o ALL Nature’s Harvest varieties carry the whole grain stamp.
o Whether Made with Whole Grain White, Honey Wheat-or any other variety, moms be sure it’s made with whole grains because it says Nature’s Harvest.
Their reactions were priceless! Each of their faces lit up when I placed their special creations in front of them! They gobbled up their sandwich and told me that was one of the best parts of their first day of school. Win for mom and for healthy eating!
