Since having our third child, a year ago, I have been trying to get into shape and tone up.  One of the ways I have been doing this is by adding yoga into my daily routine.  I was in need of a really great yoga mat to keep my track so I was super excited to have this review drop in my lap.

Let me start by saying not all yoga mats are created equal.  Of course you can go out and buy a mat at your local ‘super store’, and I have, but the quality you will find with those mats is quite poor.  Not only is the quality of the mats produced by of the utmost quality, but they are also environmentally friendly with no Phthalates/Latex and they are made with biodegradable materials.

The Northern Lights collection is meant to replicate the natural phenomenon and energy source of Northern Lights.  Each individual mat has a uniqueness of its own and no two mats are exactly the same.

The size if this mat is one of its best features.  It is extra-long with measurements of 72″ x 24″ and 5 mm thick to absorb impact on joints.  I am average height so you would not think that finding a yoga mat that I can comfortably fit on would be hard, but most mats out there are just not that big.  This mat will fit men or women comfortably because of the generous length.

When I open my mat out of the box there was no odor or plastic smell.  I just had to do a quick wipe down of the mat and it was ready to go.  It has just the right amount of stickiness so that I do not slip while doing poses.  It is very well built and I can tell will last a long time.
