Silhouette Studio Designer Edition Software Blog Review

Crafting is one of my favorite things to do! I absolutely love paper crafting, vinyl and sewing. These hobbies can get very expensive and time consuming. The costs also add up quickly, especially paper crafting; all the stamps, embellishments and trims. They take up so much room! When I heard about Silhouette America and their I knew I wanted to get one!

I was beyond excited for the opportunity to review it. I was as excited as a kid on Christmas when the package arrived. There are other electronic cutting machines on the market but none of them compare to the Silhouette Cameo.  It requires no cartridges or fancy tools, only a computer and an outlet. With the possibilities are endless! You can make scrapbook pages, cards, gift tags and other paper crafts. You can also etch class, sketch designs and cut vinyl and fabric. I have had my Silhouette for several weeks now and have made so many fabulous things! I especially had fun working on some fun projects for my anniversary.

The Silhouette Cameo is very user friendly. Speaking of friendly, their support team is in a word outstanding. I had a few questions when I was setting it up and was able to speak to someone very quickly who was more than happy to not only answer all of my questions but also gave me some expert insights.

I have had so much fun creating decorations, gifts and handouts with my cameo but I know I have barely begun to scratch the surface. My favorite thing about the Silhouette Cameo is that instead of purchasing expensive design cartridges where you only end up using a couple of the designs you can go to the Silhouette Online Store and select from thousands of designs. Every week Silhouette features a free download of the week and they also have weekly clearance shapes. Their regular price is around $0.99 for almost every design.

As I said before, the possibilities are endless but they become even more endless once you upgrade to their . This software gives you the ability to import your own artwork and create new designs that you can save and use with Silhouette products. Silhouette gave me the opportunity to review this software as well and I am crazy about it! While I am not an expert at it yet and am by no stretch of the imagination a high level designer I love that it gives me the ability to open, save and cut .svg files that many designers share for free on their blogs.

My niece is having a birthday soon so I decided that I wanted to try out the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition Software by making her a card. I found an adorable design at .  My niece is going to love it! I was very impressed with all that the Designer Software can do and I cannot wait to continue to experiment with it.

Silhouette also sent me their Metallic and Glitter . These pens can be used in the Silhouette in place of the blade allowing the machine to sketch instead of cutting. I actually used this feature on the text of the card and on some subway art that I made using one of the designs that I bought in the Silhouette Online Store. I just love the way it turned out!
