Disney’s Planes Review

I am excited to share my review of Disney PLANES with you as well as lots of fun Planes coloring and activity sheets

Disneys_Planes_Logo8_Small

I took my 5 year old son on a date night for the preview screening a few days before the public release and I am so happy I did.  He had the best time watching the movie and he has not stopped talking about it since.  This movie will keep the kids attention and entertain parents as well.

PLANES

We got to view Planes in 3D which was really the only way to see the movie.  Usually I am not a huge fan of 3D, but we are talking planes and flying through the sky–the 3D really enhances the movie and the whole experience!

I felt like the movie was a great spinoff of cars with lots of lovable and well written characters.  The major plot of the movie is a plane race around the world with planes from all over participating in the event.  I liked the fun and interesting way the cultures were depicted in the movie as the planes raced.  One of our favorite characters was El Chupacabra–a funny Mexican plane–he was cracking me up through the whole movie.

PLANES

I love that Disney makes quality movies for their audience–young children.  They keep it clean, fun and entertaining.  The review that really counts…my son–he has already been asking when Planes will be on DVD so he can watch it every day.  Another home run hit from Disney!

Kid Friendly Pasta Salad #SummerPastabilities Contest

Hodgson Mill’s asked bloggers to create a pasta salad recipe using their whole wheat pasta.  Totally up for the challenge I agreed,  and received several boxes of Hodgson Mill’s pasta to try out.   Hodgson Mill’s has no preservatives , additives or artificial colorings. It is low in fat and cholesterol but high in fiber making it a healthier option for your family. Hodgson Pasta is a 100% whole grain pasta to use in your recipe. For the Hodgson Mill’s Summer Pastabilities Recipe Contest I created a Kid Friendly Pasta Salad that I think you guys will  love.  My family certainly did!

Kid Friendly Pasta Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 a box (6 ounces) to 1 box  (12 ounces) of whole wheat bow tie pasta
  • 1 package of “real ”  bacon bits(3 ounce package)
  • 1 package of Mickey Mouse cheese ( 6 ounce package you can find this at Walmart or cut your own cheese with cookie cutters)
  • 1 green Bell Pepper  sliced
  • 1 red Onion sliced
  • Italian Salad dressing ( 8 ounces)
  • Cherry tomatoes (optional)

What to do:

First boil your Hodgson whole wheat pasta. I use 1/2 a box but if you are making it for several people you could use a whole box.  Drain and rinse.  Add in your bacon, cheese, and veggies. The great thing about pasta salad is that you can add as many vegetables or ingredients as you like and it will turn out great!  The key to getting the kiddos to dig in is the Micky Mouse cheese.  Add it all in to  the bowl and give it a good toss then refrigerate.  Best served chilled.

nursing shirt

I am so excited to be a part of this Baby Loving hop with a fabulous from Milk Nursingwear to review.  This shirt is very comfortable and so pretty!  It looks nothing like a nursing top and yet I have easy access to nurse my baby as soon as she needs me.  The nursing openings are hidden under the diagonal ruffles–so creative!

I love that the ruffles and diagonal design are flattering even for a post baby belly.  The fabric hangs nicely and the cut is fitted but not too tight.  the top washes well and it is super stretchy and soft.  This particular shirt does run a little big so I had to order a size smaller than I usually do.

Overall I am very happy with this nursing shirt.  I am pleased that this top really does double duty of being practical for nursing without giving up great fashion.

Leading Lady Nursing Bra Review and Giveaway (Ends 8/17) US only

Every woman knows that a good bra is necessary to make you look and feel great.  I think it is especially necessary after you have a baby to treat yourself to a great bra and that is why I am so excited to be able to partner with Leading Lady to review their Loving Moments Molded Underwire Nursing Bra and  Seamless Bralette Nursing Bra.

DSC04808

The two bras I reviewed worked perfectly for different reasons.  I love the soft seamless bralette when I first had baby D and my milk was coming in.  It can be very uncomfortable when you are engorged and your body is trying to regulate your milk supply so this bra was great for right after having baby since it stretches and gives support without being restrictive.  Now that my milk supply is stable I really enjoy the bralette as my sleep bra.  It is recommended to never wear an underwire bra while sleeping so this soft seamless bra is a good choice for a sleep bra.  Plus it is super comfy!

I like the molded cup nursing bra as an every-day bra.  Because of the slight padding on the bra it hides nursing pads well and creates a smooth line under my shirts.  I really like the design on this bra with the inner sling to give support even while I am nursing my baby.  This is a full coverage bra with a triple clasp back strap.  Remember it is important to have a proper fit when wearing an underwire bra while nursing.  The soft tissues and mammary glands can be easily damaged or clogged from an ill-fitting hard underwire bra so be sure to get the right fit when you purchase your new nursing bras.

Milk and Baby Nursing Shirt Review

Have I told you that I love nursing tops?  Well in case you haven’t heard, I do!  I was very happy to team up with to review a great top made by Milk.

milk and baby

I received a black draped nursing top that is great to dress up or down.  The fabric on this shirt is super soft and comfortable. I love the length of the sleeves.  They are a little bit longer than a cap sleeve, but not quite to your elbow.  I just really think it is a flattering look.

This top is very stylish. It does not look like it’s a nursing top at all, but you have easy access for nursing by pulling the v-neck draped fabric to the side and then pulling the shelf tank underneath up. It’s a little bit longer in length, which I love.  It keeps me completely covered while I am nursing.  The style is very flattering for after-baby because it hides any post-baby pooch.

This top washes nicely but it did shrink a little in the wash so keep that in mind when ordering.

Milk and Baby offers a large variety of nursing tops, dresses, and other clothes for pregnant and nursing mommas. So go check it out!

YOUBar Review and Giveaway (Ends 8/9) US only

YOUBar is a unique, customized energy bar company. I was excited to partner with them and review their most popular variety pack.

DSC04484

These bars were a perfect little snack/between meal treat especially when I was pregnant because they’re packed with organic ingredients and they are high in protein.  I shared a few of these bars with my kids and they were huge fans, also.  My oldest daughter kept begging to eat the YOUBars for breakfast each morning.

I love that I could eat a healthy protein bar and have it feel like I was eating dessert.  YOUBar has created some really fun blends, such as their Cookie Dough bar and the Goji Macadamia bars.  I really enjoyed the bars that had a lot of nuts and dates in them that made them extra chewy and moist.  My three favorite bars were the Great Date with Chocolate bar, Training 33 bar, and the Paleo bar.  If you prefer a bar that has a little more crunch to it, then you’d probably like to get the Honey Cashew bar.

youbar_small

They have seasonal bars that come out during the year, and there is even a bar of the month club you can join to get new bars delivered right to your door.  These make a great gift to send to a loved one that you know would enjoy something different and special.

The most unique thing about this company is that you can create your own bars with the help of the page.  You get to choose a base and then add in protein powder, some nuts, fruits, even chocolate if you want. They have a system that will check your original YOUBar to make sure it will end up tasting delicious. Pretty awesome if you ask me!

Momzelle Nursing Shirts Review

I never had the pleasure of using a nursing top with my three older children, but now that I’ve been introduced to nursing tops and nursing wear,

C-C_tee
I can never look back.  Thanks to I have two nursing tops to review and share with you.

The first top that I received has a criss-cross design on the top, which easily conceals the nursing openings and

black momzelle
does not look like a typical nursing top.  It’s extremely easy to use and I love that the v-neck comes up higher than most nursing tops so it gives plenty of coverage on top. I really like that nobody would know that I was wearing a nursing top unless I told them.  I do wish that this particular shirt ran a little bit longer.  I don’t need a tunic length but I do like when my shirts are long enough to make sure there is no peek-a-boo going on when I bend over.

strip shirt
Top number two is a pull-up nursing design.  I love how easy this top is to use but it does look more like a traditional nursing top so people can tell that you’re wearing a nursing shirt.  The stripes on the shirt hide the middle cut a little better than a solid color so that is something to keep in mind when ordering.  I like that this top runs a little bit longer so it gives me more coverage when I bend over. The fabric is super soft and stretchy and with this top, just like the criss-cross design, the neckline is higher so it does give you extra coverage and modesty on top too.

Tee_flap
These shirts wash well, and did not shrink in the wash.  They run true to size so I would recommend ordering the size you normally wear.

Now that I have tried out both styles, I prefer the criss-cross design that has a more desecrate nursing look so I can be trendy and stylish as a nursing mom.  Momzelle offers quite a few styles of nursing tops with tons of different colors to choose from, as well as maternity shirts. Be sure to check out which one you think would be the best fit for you.
